Meet The Chef
Our wonderful Head Chef, Chris Arnold´s culinary passion was first nurtured in Poole, Bournemouth, where he first learnt about the importance of fresh quality ingredients during his 3 years training at the prestigious Lansdowne College. Here he developed the passion that has become a hallmark of his cuisine.
Chris´s spent 2 years working at the Haven Hotel, in Sandbanks, learning from some of the finest chefs from around the county. 15 years ago, Chris followed his then Sous Chef to the picturesque village of Stokenchurch and joined the Kings Hotel as a demi chef. Since then he has worked his way through the ranks up to Head Chef and is the backbone of the kitchen.
Chris loves cooking for others and experimenting with new dishes using locally sourced, fresh ingredients, something which has stayed with him since his college days to bring the Kings a fabulous Eating House which has a built its´ reputation by offering value for money, great home cooked comfort food.
We are very proud of our home-made sirloin steak Kings´ burger, with Chris´s secret relish receipe which has become our signature dish - we are confident that they really are the best in town. Our salmon fishcakes are made of pure salmon and when you cut them open the pink, fresh salmon, is just waiting to be devoured, served with spinach and perfectly prepared hollandaise they are simply divine.
The kitchen also operates a busy banqueting and conference section, serving delicious menus, buffets and, melt in your mouth home-make cakes and biscuits.
I love the satisfaction of playing my part in events & especially weddings. The food is a vital party of any couples big day so it´s a great buzz and a complete pleasure to cook for so many guests.
